Hours: 54 lecture
The appropriate use of assessment and observation tools and strategies to document young children’s development, learning and behavior. Emphasizes use of findings to inform and plan learning environments and experiences. Recording strategies, rating systems, portfolios, and multiple assessment tools will be explored, along with strategies for collaboration with families and professionals. The Human Development and Family degree program provides students with the necessary education for work in child development programs at various levels: assistant teacher, associate teacher, teacher, master teacher, site supervisor and director.
